Hey everyone!
Continuing with the series of Colorbar Face brush reviews, this post contains a review of the Powder Brush which I find very similar to the previously reviewed Blush brush except for the minor difference in the shape.

Price : Rs 475. Available online for purchase HERE.

The Powder brush is very similar to the Blush brush. It comes in an catchy white, black and pink packaging. The fuchsia bristles of the brush paired with the stout black and white stem give it a very attractive look! The brush is a little shorter than the length of my palm and the chubbiness adds to its ‘cute’ appearance overall. Colorbar did a very good job as far as the aesthetics are concerned!

The quality of the brush is however a different story! The bristles are scratchy especially when the brush is new. After 2 washes however, the bristles softened a little bit but they are still nowhere near as soft and silky one wants a face brush to be. The brush sheds a little bit after a wash but not heavily – about 5-6 hairs. It doesn’t take too long to dry after a wash.
The shape of a brush is quite good. It is quite dense yet has a bit of fluffiness so it doesn’t pick up too much powder. It has a slight taper and curve but the profile is less rounded than the blush brush. The bristles are longer as well. The brush is not too large so its easy to blend the powder in the smaller areas of the face like around the nose, temples etc. Apart from the scratchy bristles, I think it does a pretty good job of powder application.
Overall, the shape and density is good but the quality of the bristles could have been so much better. Another thing I noticed was that there is no Label on the brushes. The Powder and Blush brush in this range are so similar looking that I often get confused between the two!
- Attractive packaging
- Dense shape and curved brush ; picks up powder well
- Deposits powder evenly on the face
- Fairly fluffy ; blends powder well
- Easy to reach smaller areas since the brush is not too large
- Doesn’t take too long to dry
- The bristles are scratchy!
- No label on the brush ; could be confused with the blush brush
- Sheds after a wash

Colorbar put a lot of thought in the packaging – making is quite attractive and catchy. I wish the same effort had gone into the brush itself. The shape and density of the brush is good – it picks up powder well and deposits it evenly onto the skin. But the bristles are scratchy and rough on the skin (even after a few washes) and that just spoils the whole experience. Moreover, it sheds a bit after washing and the brush carries no label. I find Vega brushes pretty much the same (without the pretty packaging though) – good shape and density but scratchy bristles and they are 1/4th the price. I’m disappointed!
