hey everyone, hope you doing well. My #Amazon Giveaway will be ending soon so don’t forget to participate in it. Moving on with today’s post, I will be doing an honest review with one of my latest purchase-  Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation in Shade 02 Porcelain. They have a range of shades but in India I saw mainly pink undertone shades which I believe may not suit Indian skin tones well. We get a total of 6 shades which is very less when compared to diverse skin tones in India. I have already reviewed the Maybelline Two Way Cake Foundation from the same range.

My Experience :-

Packaging- Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation comes in a glass bottle with a beige colored pump dispenser. The packaging is nothing fancy but the dispenser is really receptive to touch and doesn’t mess up at the mouth of the pump.

Shade- I got the shade 02 which is the lightest shade in this range. The shade is a perfect match for my NC 25 yellow undertone skin but there are no shades for darker skin tones which is a major con.

Coverage/Pigmentation-The foundation provides light, very natural coverage. It is a great foundation for daily wear as the formula isn’t heavy on skin. However, you can build up the coverage to medium. It doesn’t look cakey. The foundation will even out the skin and blur redness but major skin issues need concealing.

Texture & Formula- The foundation has a lovely texture. It is somewhere between a mousse and liquid foundation. The formula is thick but not that it doesn’t blend or looks patchy .It blends super easily and provides a flawless base. My pores are less visible. It provides a dewy finish and those having dry skin will love the formula. But for my combination-oily skin, the formula is little too dewy and I need a good layer of powder to keep shine at bay. The foundation has no fragrance.

Staying Power-Maybelline Dream Satin Skin foundation stays for about 4-5 hours on me in this hot-humid weather .I can see it melting when I am out in the sun and it does get transferred to other objects like tissue, cell phone which is another con of this foundation.

 Overall Thoughts

Maybelline Dream Satin Skin Liquid Foundation certainly has some good points but I can’t neglect its low staying power and melting issues. It never broke me out though. The formula is airy and amazing for everyday wear. It is light weight and the finish is very natural. My face looks fresh when I wear this. It does minimize the appearance of pores to some extent. However, limited shades are available and there are absolutely no shades for dusky complexion.

  1. Yes.. I totally agree with you. .. After reading some reviews on internet I wanted to buy this product but there were no shades available for medium yellow under tone skin…I was highly disappointed…. But then found my shade in dream matte mousse range and it works pretty well… Nice review Melina….

  2. I had this foundation, but broke it while on holiday 🙁 Glass packaging a big con, and not suitable for travel.
